About Dr. Wilks

   

    Dr. Wilks is a graduate of the University of California at

San Diego School of Medicine and the Phoenix Integrated

Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She worked as an

Obstetrician-Gynecologist in private practice for nine years,

attaining Board Certification from the American Board of
Obstetrics and Gynecology and Advanced Surgical

Certification from the American Academy of Gynecologic

Laparoscopy.

     In 1998, Dr. Wilks completed rigorous training in Medical

Acupuncture. She is a Diplomate (Board Certified) of the

American Board of Medical Acupuncture, and a Fellow (the highest level
of membership) in the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.


    She believes that Medical Acupuncture is a much-needed adjunct and excellent complement to Western medicine, and especially enjoys the opportunity to consider the whole person when designing treatment.

    Dr. Wilks is a fellow of the AAMA, and served 2 3-year terms on the Arizona Board of Acupuncture Examiners. She has worked for 14 years on the planning committee and as medical staff for The American Lung Association's 'Camp Not-A-Wheeze' for children with asthma, and also works with the Guatemala Literacy Project. She is the president of the Peoria North Rotary Club, and serves on the planning committee and as photographer for RYLA, a leadership camp for teenagers.

 

     She is a professional outdoor photographer, and her work may be viewed on the Skyline Images website.  She lives in Peoria, AZ with her husband and dog.
