Office hours are variable.
Typical charges:
New Patient evaluation and treatment--$100.
Subsequent treatments --$85.
Pre-purchase discount available**
Smoking cessation (4 appointments) --$275.
Payment is expected at the time of service.
24-Hour notice (excluding weekends and holidays) is required for changes in
appointments. Full payment is required for late cancellation.
**Pre-purchase:
Purchase 8 or more (follow-up, non-transferrable) visits, to be redeemed within one year, for $75.00 per visit.
Why Doesn't Dr Wilks Bill Insurance Companies?
1. Cost. In order for me to hire an employee to bill your insurance, I would need to do one or both of the following:
*Raise fees. This creates a hardship for the majority of folks, since few
insurance companies pay for acupuncture.
*Institute an 'assembly line' practice.
Part of my professional mission is to provide personal service. This way, my
patients get better faster and are better cared- for.
2. Paperwork. Signing and maintaining contracts with insurance carriers is a large
undertaking which is expensive (see above) and time-consuming. Many of these
contracts also include requirements which are not acceptable to me. I'd
be happy to talk more about this with interested patients.
I do provide the documentation to help you to get reimbursed for your acupuncture
sessions with me (if your insurance provides acupuncture benefits), and will respond to requests from insurance companies within reasonable limits to
facilitate the process.
